Mike Moore pr閟ide la c閞閙onie de remise des dipl鬽es qui cl魌ure le quinzi鑝e cours de politique commerciale de l'OMC
Des repr閟entants de 28 gouvernements - de l'Alg閞ie ? Vanuatu ont re鐄 le 8 d閏embre 2000 des mains de Mike Moore, Directeur g閚閞al de l'OMC, un dipl鬽e ? l'issue du quinzi鑝e cours de politique commerciale de l'OMC, au Si鑗e de l'Organisation ?Gen鑦e.

Prenant la parole au cours d'une br鑦e c閞閙onie, M. Moore a soulign?que l'Organisation devait 阾re en mesure de faire davantage dans le domaine de la formation et d'augmenter le nombre des participants ?ces cours.
Il a dit 阾re personnellement convaincu que les cours et autres activit閟 de formation aidaient consid閞ablement les pays b閚閒iciaires ?renforcer leurs moyens de participation au syst鑝e commercial multilat閞al, ce qui, a-t-il ajout? entra頽ait des avantages durables tant pour les gouvernements concern閟 que pour le syst鑝e commercial.
Ont particip??ce cours des repr閟entants des minist鑢es du commerce de pays en d関eloppement, de pays moins avanc閟 et de pays dont l'閏onomie est en transition, dont certains sont actuellement en cours de n間ociation de leur accession ?l'OMC. Au nom des participants, M. Georges Singana Maniuri de Vanuatu a remerci?le Secr閠ariat de l'OMC pour les efforts qu'il avait d閜loy閟 pour organiser ce stage.
M. Maniuri a assur?le Directeur g閚閞al de l'OMC que ce cours avait renforc?l'aptitude des participants ? d閒endre les int閞阾s de leurs pays respectifs et ? intensifier leur participation au syst鑝e commercial multilat閞al.
Il a dit que les participants utiliseraient les connaissances acquises et les diffuseraient, une fois rentr閟 dans leur pays.
Le Directeur g閚閞al adjoint de l'OMC, M. Paul-Henri Ravier, a 間alement soulign?la n閏essit?pour les participants de tirer parti des connaissances et de l'exp閞ience acquises au cours du cours de trois mois organis??l'OMC.

a soulign?combien il 閠ait important de maintenir et
de renforcer le r閟eau qui avait 閠?cr殫 au cours
du cours entre les participants eux-m阭es et entre les
participants et le personnel de l'OMC.
Le quinzi鑝e cours de politique commerciale de l'OMC
s'est d閞oul?du 18 septembre au 8 d閏embre. Trois
autres stages sont pr関us en 2001.
