L'OMC lance le 16鑝e cours de politique commerciale
Au cours d'une br鑦e c閞閙onie qui s'est tenue le 15 janvier, M. Paul-Henri Ravier, Directeur g閚閞al adjoint de l'Organisation mondiale du commerce, a ouvert officiellement le 16鑝e cours de politique commerciale organis?sous l'間ide de l'OMC.

M. Ravier a fait observer que, pour le Secr閠ariat de l'OMC, la situation 閠ait telle que la demande de formation d閜assait largement les ressources financi鑢es et humaines dont il disposait. Il a ajout? que l'OMC et son Directeur g閚閞al portaient un grand int閞阾 aux activit閟 destin閑s ?am閘iorer la capacit?des pays en d関eloppement, et en particulier des moins avanc閟 d'entre eux, de participer au syst鑝e commercial multilat閞al.
C'est la premi鑢e fois que des fonctionnaires du B閘arus, de la Dominique, de G閛rgie, de Lettonie, de Lituanie, de Moldova et de l'ex-R閜ublique yougoslave de Mac閐oine participent aux cours de politique commerciale ordinaires.
Ce cours de 12 semaines se terminera le 6 avril 2001. Depuis leur cr閍tion en 1955, 94 cours de politique commerciale ont 閠?organis閟 sous l'間ide du GATT, puis de l'OMC, et pr鑣 de 2 000 fonctionnaires ont pu suivre cette formation. L'OMC organise aussi des cours de politique commerciale de courte dur閑 dans le cadre de son programme de coop閞ation technique.
