L'OMC lance le 18鑝e cours de politique commerciale
Des fonctionnaires nationaux venant de 30 pays et territoires douaniers ont assist?hier ?la s閍nce d'ouverture du 18鑝e cours de politique commerciale de l'OMC. Cette br鑦e c閞閙onie a 閠?pr閟id閑 par M. Ablass?nbsp;Ouedraogo, Directeur g閚閞al adjoint de l'OMC, qui a accueilli tous les participants au nom de M. Mike Moore.

M. Ouedraogo a fait observer que les 30 fonctionnaires charg閟 des questions commerciales auraient l'occasion unique de suivre, de l'int閞ieur, les travaux de l'OMC. L'Organisation traverse un moment important dans sa jeune existence, marqu?par l'accession de la Chine et du Taipei chinois, dont les processus sont arriv閟 ?leur toute derni鑢e 閠ape, et par les d閎ats pr閜aratoires en vue de la prochaine Conf閞ence minist閞ielle qui sont entr閟 dans une phase d閏isive pour parvenir ?un consensus sur les futures n間ociations commerciales.
M. Ouedraogo a mis l'accent sur les actions men閑s par l'OMC pour contribuer au renforcement des capacit閟 des pays en d関eloppement et des 閏onomies en transition en mati鑢e commerciale. Il a invit? les participants au cours ?prendre une part active ?la formation pr関ue. Il s'est d閏lar?convaincu que des fonctionnaires nationaux bien inform閟 contribueront de fa鏾n d閠erminante ?consolider le syst鑝e commercial international et ?le rendre v閞itablement multilat閞al.
Pendant les trois mois que durera le cours, c'est-?dire jusqu'au 30 novembre, les 30 participants seront familiaris閟, gr鈉e ?des conf閞ences, des tables rondes et des exercices de simulation, avec presque toutes les activit閟 men閑s dans le cadre de l'OMC et avec les aspects li閟 au commerce des travaux d'autres organisations internationales 閠ablies ?Gen鑦e.
