WTO Trade and Environment Week 2020
Sustainable development and the protection and preservation of the environment are fundamental goals of the WTO. They are enshrined in the WTO's founding document, the Marrakesh Agreement Establishing the WTO.

From 16 to 20 November 2020, the WTO will organize Trade and Environment Week 2020, a global forum to:
- explore issues at the forefront of the trade and environment agenda;
- showcase successful experiences on how to make global trade more sustainable, resilient and inclusive; and
- exchange concrete ideas on the role of trade and the WTO in building back greener and better from the COVID-19 crisis.
Trade and Environment Week 2020 comprises a series of events and workshops led by WTO Members, along with a high-level session co-hosted by the United Nations Environment Programme and the WTO Secretariat. Events throughout the week are held in conjunction with the Committee on Trade and Environment (CTE), whose second meeting of the year will start on 16 November and resume on 20 November 2020.
