NGO participation in Ministerial
Conference was largest ever
Just under 800 non-governmental organizations and almost 1,600 of their representatives attended the Fifth WTO Ministerial Conference in Canc鷑, a record in the WTO抯 eight-year history.

The numbers have climbed almost eightfold since the first conference in
Singapore in 1996. The Doha meeting in 2001 saw a dip in numbers because of
limited accommodation.
These are the numbers for the five ministerial conferences:
