Launch of new journal
Geneva, April 9, 2002 ?WTO Director-General Mike Moore announced today the launch of a new scholarly journal, the World Trade Review, as a joint initiative between the WTO and Cambridge University Press (CUP).
The World Trade Review, with three issues per year, will invite articles from a wide range of specialists world-wide which address trade issues from economic, legal, political and inter-disciplinary perspectives. A rigorous peer review process will assure that articles meet high standards in terms of theoretical and methodological rigour.
Articles in the first issue of the Journal include:
- The World Trade Organization's Legitimacy Crisis, by Dan Esty
- Strengthening the Global Architecture for Development: the Post Doha Agenda, by Bernard Hoekman
- Why are Safeguards Under the WTO so Unpopular? by Chad P. Bown
- Cross-Agreement Complaints Before the Appellate Body: a case-study of the EC-Asbestos Dispute, by Joost Paulwelyn
- Long Run Trends in World Trade and Income, by Douglas A Irwin.
- Perceptions About the WTO Trade Institutions, by John H. Jackson
For more information on the World Trade Review please contact Mr. Jean-Guy Carrier at the WTO, phone number +41 22 739 5439.
