A National Trade Policy Seminar was held in Phnom Penh (Cambodia) from 27 to 29 October 2003. This event organized jointly by the Ministry of Commerce of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the WTO Secretariat, is the first technical assistance activity held after the WTO Ministers approved Cambodia’s Membership Agreement in Cancún, on 11 September 2003.

H.E. Mr. Cham Prasidh, Minister of Commerce of the Kingdom of Cambodia, said in his concluding remarks that this seminar constitutes the first event and is the start of a series of actions that will ultimately allow his country to participate fully in the World Trading system. In complement to the seminar, the Minister signalled several areas of assistance that are needed. Such requests will be sent to the WTO Secretariat in the coming days.
