Business Advisory Group
The Business Advisory Group was established in June 2023 as part of a strengthened engagement between the WTO Director-General and the business community. The Group provides an informal platform for the exchange of views and discussions with key stakeholders. It is chaired by the Director-General. The members of the Advisory Group are selected by the Director-General. The composition of the Group takes into consideration geographical and sectoral diversity as well as gender balance. A list of current members is below.

Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, Chairman of Coronation Group Limited
Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede is an investor, banker and philanthropist known for his achievements across the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. As co-founder of the Tengen Family Office, he oversees a multibillion-dollar portfolio spanning banking, finance, insurance, technology, real estate and energy. Through the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation, he and his wife drive initiatives focused on grooming Nigeria’s future government leaders, enhancing public sector efficiency and advancing primary healthcare access.
His leadership transformed Nigeria’s Access Bank into a leading African Bank with a significant global footprint while his advocacy for sustainable banking practices and financial market reform has earned him global recognition. He continues to spearhead initiatives like the Adopt-A-Healthcare-Facility Programme, reinforcing his commitment to transformative change and social progress. He was appointed Chairman of the Coronation Group Ltd, Nigeria's first licensed capital markets holding company, in 2019. He also returned to Access Holding PIc as Chairman in March 2024.

Jay Collins, Vice Chairman of Banking and Public Sector at Citi
Jay Collins is Vice Chairman of Banking at Citi. He is Citi’s senior banker for governments globally. He has covered clients around the world in every significant sector and run transactions across Citi’s full product spectrum, including privatizations, liability management, infrastructure finance, structure products, digital solutions and M&A.
Jay was Global Head of Citi’s Public Sector Group from 2005 to 2011. During 2006-2007, he was also Citi’s Global Head of Infrastructure. Prior to that, Jay was Head of Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEEMEA) for Global Banking at Citi and played a senior role in Nikko Citigroup’s Investment Banking Division in Tokyo.
Jay has a Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, where he graduated with Honors in 1989. He speaks Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish.

Thomas Cueni, former Director General of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA)
Thomas Cueni was Director-General of IFPMA and Secretary of the Biopharmaceutical CEO Round Table before stepping down in April 2024. He has been instrumental in pioneering solutions to tackle the biggest global health challenges: the US$ 1 billion AMR Action Fund for the development of new antibiotics and the Berlin Declaration – the pharmaceutical industry’s blueprint for equitable rollout of medical countermeasures in future pandemics.
He has two master degrees: in economics from the University of Basel and in politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He started his four-decade career as a journalist and multilateral diplomat.

John W.H. Denton, Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC)
John W.H. Denton AO is the Secretary General of the ICC. He is a global business leader with expertise in international trade and investment. In 2022, he was appointed by the UN Secretary General to represent the private sector on the Steering Committee of the UN Global Crisis Response Group. He also serves on the WHO Foundation Strategic Advisory Group and the Global Task Force on Refugee Labour Mobility. He is a Board member of the UN Global Compact, Chair of the UN Business and Human Security Initiative Advisory Board, and a founding member of the Business 20 (B20).
He serves on various boards, including IFM Global Investors, the UN Development Programme's Impact Investing Steering Group and UNICEF's global education initiative, GenU. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the African Green Infrastructure Investment Bank and Chair of the Moeller Institute Advisory Board at the University of Cambridge.

Prasoon Kumar, Co-Founder and CEO of BillionBricks
Prasoon Kumar, Co-Founder and CEO of BillionBricks, spearheads the world’s first income-generating and net-zero housing community. Establishing BillionBricks in 2013 as a non-profit organization, he has positively impacted the lives of over 15,000 homeless people across nine countries. In 2020, he strategically transformed BillionBricks into a venture-funded for-profit entity, amplifying its role as a sustainable affordable housing pioneer.
As a TEDx luminary, he focuses on tackling the climate and housing crises. Under his leadership, BillionBricks has earned global acclaim, including the prestigious President's Design Award (Singapore 2020, 2018), INDE.Awards (Australia 2022), the Global Holcim Commendation Award (2021) and the ENGIE Innovation Trophy (2020).

Josie Morris, Managing Director of Woolcool
Josie Moris is Managing Director at Woolcool. B-Corp certified, and designing and manufacturing in the UK, the company is an innovator in its sector, producing sustainable packaging using 100% wool and recently diversifying into horticulture.
In 2021, she was awarded an MBE in The Queen's Honours List for services to manufacturing and the environment. She became a Deputy Lieutenant of Staffordshire in 2023. She is a leading advocate for MSMEs and is involved in a number of engagement groups, including the ICC SME Champions Group, Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce Board and a Department for Business & Trade Export Champion. She is also a trustee for a number of local charities.

Paul Polman, business leader, campaigner, author
Paul Polman is a business leader, campaigner and co-author of “Net Positive: how courageous companies thrive by giving more than they take”,a Financial Times Business Book of the Year. He was ranked Number 3 in the Thinkers50 ranking in 2023.
He works to accelerate action by business to tackle climate change and inequality. As CEO of Unilever (2009-2019), he demonstrated that business can profit through purpose, delivering shareholder returns of 290% while the company consistently ranked 1st in the world for sustainability. Today, he works across a range of organizations to deliver the UN Sustainable Development Goals, which he helped develop.

Tarek Sultan, Vice Chairman of Agility
Tarek Sultan is the Vice Chairman of Agility. Sultan assumed leadership of the company in 1997 and spearheaded the company’s growth through a series of acquisitions. Today, Agility is a global leader in supply chain services, infrastructure and innovation with 45,000+ employees and a footprint in six continents.
He sits on the board of directors of DSV, a global transport and logistics company. As a member of the World Economic Forum, he sits on the WEF’s International Business Council and Stewardship Board for Shaping the Future of Mobility. He is also a Governor of the WEF Supply Chain and Transport Industries community. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School and a Bachelor of Economics degree from Williams College.

Dr José Viñals, Group Chairman of Standard Chartered Bank
Dr José Viñals was appointed Group Chairman of Standard Chartered PLC in December 2016.
He began his career as an economist, before spending 25 years at the Central Bank of Spain, ultimately as Deputy Governor. He held numerous board and advisory positions, including Chair of Spain’s Deposit Guarantee Fund, Chair of the International Relations Committee at the European Central Bank, member of the Economic and Financial Committee of the European Union and Chair of the Working Group on Institutional Investors at the Bank for International Settlements.
He joined the International Monetary Fund in 2009, where he was the Financial Counsellor and the Director of the Monetary and Capital Markets Department, responsible for the oversight and direction of the IMF’s monetary and financial sector work, stepping down in 2016 to join Standard Chartered. During his time at the IMF, he was a member of the Plenary and Steering Committee of the Financial Stability Board, playing a key role in the reform of international financial regulation.
He is Co-Chair of the United Nations’ Alliance of Global Investors for Sustainable Development and board member of the Institute of International Finance. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Bretton Woods Committee, a member of the Advisory Council of the CityUK and a board member of the Social Progress Initiative.

Diane Wang, Founder, Chairperson and CEO of DHgate
Diane Wang is Founder, Chairperson and CEO of DHgate, one of the leading cross-border B2B e-commerce marketplaces in China founded in 2004. It had engaged 2.6 million sellers and 77 million buyers worldwide by the end of 2020. She has leveraged 30 years of business and digital experience to drive DHgate’s mission to empower everyone through digitalization.
She is founder of the Inner Mountain Foundation, convenor of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) Inclusion Working Group, Co-chair of Business 20 Women in the Business Action Council besides multiple roles at various international organizations.

Rosa Whitaker, President and CEO of The Whitaker Group
Rosa Whitaker, entrepreneur, investor and former US policy leader is Founder and CEO of The Whitaker Group, a transaction advisory and project development firm specializing in Africa. As the first Assistant US Trade Representative for Africa under US Presidents Clinton and Bush, she was one of the hands-on architects of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) and other pioneering US-Africa trade initiatives.
She serves on the boards of the US Chamber of Commerce and Afreximbank’s Fund for Export Development in Africa. The recipient of many honours, she is regularly featured in the media for commentary on Africa investment issues.
