“Partenariat pour le Coton” ?Cotton Partnership
The WTO-FIFA 揚artenariat pour le Coton?initiative aims to help African countries move up the cotton value chain and play a bigger role in transforming cotton into textiles and clothing. A recent study on the cotton sector in the Cotton4+ countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali and C魌e d'Ivoire) reveals that the textile and garment manufacturing sector is at a nascent stage in some of these countries. To generate job opportunities for thousands of young workers, these countries would benefit from being integrated to a much greater extent into international textile supply chains. The 揚artenariat pour le Coton?marks the latest stage in WTO-FIFA cooperation following the signing of the WTO-FIFA Memorandum of Understanding in 2022.
