The WTO Secretariat will support trade-focused events at COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 11-22 November 2024. Azerbaijan, with its COP29 Presidency, has scheduled the Climate Finance, Investment and Trade (FIT) Day on 14 November 2024 in cooperation with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), International Trade Centre (ITC), UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the WTO. With the generous support of the Government of Azerbaijan, the WTO Secretariat and partners (ICC, ITC, UNCTAD) will for the first time ever host Trade and Investment House (TIH) pavilions in both the Blue (Pavilion Space B4) and Green (Pavilion Space D10) Zones. WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala will attend the World Leader's Summit and several high level events at the Trade and Investment House and other venues. Several knowledge products will be launched during COP29.

Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan ?AZPROMO, in collaboration with the WTO Secretariat and the ICC, ITC, and UNCTAD, will host the Trade and Investment House (TIH) in Baku from 11 to 22 November 2024. For the first time ever, the TIH pavilion will be in both the Blue and Green Zones of COP29, offering a unique opportunity for registered participants and the general public to engage on critical issues at the intersection of trade, investment, and climate action. The TIH will feature high-level programming, including sessions focused on Finance, Investment, and Trade during COP29 thematic days. In addition to the presentations, panel discussions, and exclusive networking events with global stakeholders at the Blue Zone. The TIH in the Green Zone will act as a vibrant space for public engagement, hosting interactive discussions, exhibits, workshops, and demonstrations that showcase innovative trade, investment and climate solutions.
The Climate Finance, Investment and Trade (FIT) Day on 14 November 2024 will host dedicated discussions exploring how trade and investment can be leveraged to amplify climate finance flows. Climate FIT Day will invite all COP29 participants to discuss the key role that trade policies can play in achieving climate objectives and help promote sustainable development. The thematic day will highlight several Azerbaijan COP Presidency initiatives, including the Baku Initiative for Climate Finance, Investment, and Trade (BICFIT), as well as special high-level events exploring specific issues such as sustainable stock exchanges, efforts to decarbonize the steel and hydrogen sectors or how to effectively integrate small and medium sized enterprises, particularly from developing economies, into low carbon value chains.
