El 5 de noviembre de 2014, la Organización Mundial del Comercio (OMC), la Organización Mundial de la Propiedad Intelectual (OMPI) y la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) celebraron en la OMC, en Ginebra, un simposio técnico sobre “Innovación y acceso a las tecnologías médicas: desafíos y oportunidades para los países de ingresos medianos”.

En este cuarto simposio técnico trilateral se examinaron algunos de los desafíos y oportunidades de los países de ingresos medianos. La innovación biomédica y el desarrollo industrial han avanzado en estos países, pero la población no disfruta todavía plenamente de los productos de salud innovadores.
