The most significant changes that have been introduced concern: the
required content of Notices of Appeal (see the new version of Rule 20(2)(d)
and Rule 23(2)); a new, earlier deadline for filing an appellant's
submission (7 days, rather than 10 days after the filing of the Notice of
Appeal, see the amendments to Rule 21); a new requirement for parties
wishing to file an other appeal to file a Notice of Other Appeal within 12
days of the Notice of Appeal (see Rule 23); the introduction of the
possibility to amend a Notice of Appeal or Notice of Other Appeal (see new
Rule 23bis); and modification of the deadline for requesting authorization
to correct clerical errors in written submissions (within 30 days of the
filing of the Notice of Appeal rather than within 3 days of the filing of
the relevant submission, see the new version of Rule 18(5)).
A full explanation of all the changes that have been made, as well as the
rationale for such changes, are set out in WTO Document
WT/AB/WP/W/9.
