Documents des n間ociations bilat閞ales du GATT par parties contractantes
À l'époque du GATT (Accord général sur les tarifs douaniers et le commerce), huit cycles de négociations tarifaires ont eu lieu entre 1947 et 1994: Genève (1947), Annecy (1949), Torquay (1950-1951), Genève (1956), Genève (1960-1961) aussi appelé Négociations Dillon, Négociations Kennedy (1964-1967), Tokyo Round (1973-1979) et Cycle d'Uruguay (1986-1994).
Dans les premiers cycles, les négociations étaient menées produit par produit (approche "demandes/offres"): les parties contractantes du GATT échangeaient des listes de demandes et d'offres pour les produits présentant un intérêt pour elles, afin de trouver un accord sur des concessions tarifaires. On trouvera ci-dessous les documents bilatéraux relatifs aux quatre premiers cycles, qui ont été mis en distribution générale par les Membres concernés. Tous les documents se rapportant à une négociation bilatérale particulière (demande, offre, accords) ont été compilés en un seul document PDF. Les documents peuvent être consultés par cycle de négociations ou par parties contractantes.

Dans le cadre des dispositions prises par l'OMC pour améliorer la transparence, les Membres sont convenus de mettre en distribution générale un grand nombre de documents ayant trait aux précédents cycles de négociations dans le cadre du GATT. 1
Seront ainsi mis en distribution générale plus de 5000 dossiers conservés par le Secrétariat, y compris des demandes, des offres et des accords bilatéraux négociés selon l'approche "demandes/offres".
Les documents bilatéraux ont été numérisés dans le cadre d'un projet mené en collaboration avec les bibliothèques de l'Université de Stanford afin d'assurer leur préservation.
